One can do impossible things when they are surrounded by people who will not give up on them. It’s sad when someone is rejected because they are different from others. What’s sadder is when a dog is to be put down because they are born with a defect.

The puppies that you will know about today were born different. Both dogs were unable to walk but instead would paddle their legs to be able to get around. A vet met the first puppy, David, and knew she needed to help him.

David went through hydrotherapy to gain strength on his legs, and promote its mobility. Moments were celebrated with David such as the first time he tried to stand up or the first time that he tried walking with a splint. Simple moments like these were celebrated with him and the people that surrounded him.

Then came Goliath. David and Goliath have met for the very first time. Both have the same condition, and both were working their way to becoming stronger. With the help of the vet and therapy, every day was a day closer to their goal.

David and Goliath continued to defy odds every time they take a step, or they stand on their own. Because someone believed in them and did not give up on them, they did not give up on themselves as well.

Through time, hard work and therapy, both were able to walk correctly. They no longer show signs of swimmer’s syndrome and just like any regular dog. But for what they have been through, these two are far from being regular.

They are fighters and survivors. If not for the vet who helped and for the other people who were involved in their recovery, these two lovely dogs may not have been alive today. Now, they are strong and living a very happy life.
