Juno is a 3-year-old pit bull from Vancouver who’s always had a hard time making friends. She has difficulty in trusting others that’s why whenever she makes friends, it’s surely something special. However, her mom, Kelly Tedford was unaware of this when she adopted her and brought her to Seattle back in 2017.

Juno already came from two adoptive homes before Kelly took her in. But Kelly didn’t know Juno’s full history and didn’t fully understand her situation either. When Kelly got her, she stubbornly waited on the ground for half an hour with treats on her hand until Juno finally approached her.

Kelly was a part-time dog walker and trainer. She had lots of experience in dealing with difficult dogs. Initially, Juno would get aggressive out of fear whenever Kelly introduces her to her clients. After lots of time and work, Juno started warming up and enjoying the other dogs’ company.

Eventually, Juno became friends with the dogs that Kelly was walking. However, Kelly said that if they’re unable to see the other dogs for over a week, it’s as if Juno didn’t recognize them anymore. So, Kelly did everything she can to help Juno. She used natural calming aids, training, Thundershirt, and spent some quality time with her fur baby.

None of them worked until her vet prescribed Prozac. When Juno started taking the med, Juno’s aggression lessened. She also started remembering her walking buddies whenever they see each other. Soon after, Juno developed a close relationship with Callie and Blondie, the Labradors. Kelly said that Juno would go nuts whenever they’re about to go for a walk.

Unfortunately, the two of them had to move for Kelly’s new job. Kelly saw how sad Juno has become. She also had difficulty in befriending other dogs. So, Kelly planned a surprise playdate with Juno’s old friends. They visited their old neighborhood so that Juno could play with them.

Juno was very excited to see her friends. Kelly took them all in a special secluded spot for a swim. Kelly saw how it de-stressed and improved Juno’s mood. Because of that, Kelly plans to regularly make a weekend trip so Juno will be able to relax and enjoy with her friends.
